The Temple freshman girls basketball team used a strong 9-4 second quarter to pull ahead of visiting Elgin 13-7 at the half. However, Elgin used a 12-5 run in the third quarter to pull ahead of the Tem-Cats and hold on for a 29-20 victory over Temple in the District 17-5A opener for both teams.
