Boys Varsity Track · Wildcats look strong in final tune-up before district


4×200 Relay Champions

The Wildcat varsity track and field team traveled to Ft. Bend on Thursday to compete in the Ranger Relays. Temple mainly ran the members of their relay teams and did nt compete a full squad. It was a final tune-up before the district track meet next week at Belton High School.

Temple finished in forth place in the team standings out of 11 teams with a team total of 84 points despite nit having a full squad. Marshall took 1st with 181, Manvel 2nd (93) and Dawson 3rd with 86.

Mikal Harrison-Pilot and Tr’Darius Taylor tied for 2nd Place in the varsity division as the Top Athletes of the Ranger Relays with 20 points. Arveyon Davis of Marshall was awarded the Top Athlete award with 22 points.

The Wildcats earned gold medals in both the 4×100 and 4×200 relays while Tr’Darius Taylor won the 100 in a time of 10.68 and Mikal Harrison Pilot was 1st in the 200 meters with a time of 21.63.

Ranger Relays

Temple will participate in the District 12-6A Championships next week. Field events will be held on Wednesday while the running finals will be on Thursday. All events will be held at Belton High School.
