COPPERAS COVE – The Travis Science Academy 7th grade volleyball team traveled to Copperas Cove on Thursday to take on S.E Lee Junior High.

The “A” team fell to Cove Lee by a score of 25-23, 25-17.  Ava Machuca had 6 service aces while Natalia Partida had 4 digs, and 2 service aces.

Travis fell to 0-1 in district play.

The “B” team fell to Cove Lee by a score of 25-18, 25-12. Destiny Green had several great service aces to lead the Lady Mustangs.

Coach Anna Anderson noted:, “For our first showing I was excited for the potential, with only 3-4 practices they fought and are starting to understand the importance of being a teammate.  We have seen what we need to work on and will build our practice plans accordingly.  It is always fun to see the 7th graders-they were so nervous but they worked hard and we are proud of all our Lady Mustangs! ”

Travis will host North Belton on September 24th at Temple High School beginning at 5:00
