Girls Varsity Volleyball · Tem-Cats go perfect 3-0 at Westwood Showcase

ROUND ROCK – The Tem-Cat volleyball team bounced back from a disappointing start to the Westwood Showcase on Thursday by rebounding with three victories on Friday at Round Rock High School. The Tem-Cats defeated Incarnate Word, Ft. Worth Brewer and TMI Episcopal in straight sets to improve their season record to 3-4.

Temple opened the day by defeating Incarnate Word by a score of 25-15, 25-23. Kenna Fort recorded 15 assist, 3 digs and 2 kills, while Paysee Crow five digs, kills and assist to go along with 3 blocks. Jessica Vaden had a team hig 6 kills while Bella Brea had a team high 9 digs.

Game 2 saw the Tem-Cats pull out a close victory over Brewer by a score of 25-19, 25-21. Bella Brea led the Cats with a team highs in digs with 14, kills 6 and aces 4. Kenna Fort recorded a team high 10 assist while Jessica Vaden collected 4 kills and a team high 3 blocks. Paysee Crow had a solid game with 7 assist, 5 digs and 4 kills.

Temple closed out a perfect 3-0 day by defeating TMI Episcopal in their final match 25-15, 25-19. Jessica Vaden had 8 assist, 4 kills, block and an ace. Hayli Hesse had a team high 6 aces while Faith Farbo chipped in 4. Bella Brea had 5 kills, Amaya Benekin 7 assist, Paysee Crow 3 kills, 2 aces and Ali Mack recorded 2 kills and 2 blocks.

Temple now advances to the bronze bracket on Saturday where they will fave Navarro at 10:00 am at Round Rock High School. Following that contest, hey will then face either Thorndale or Bastrop at either 11:00 or 12:00. The bronze bracket championship is set for 1:00 pm.
