The Temple boys junior varsity basketball team defeated Harker Heights on Tuesday night by a score of 38-35 at Wildcat Gym on District 12-6A action.
Behind Luke Allen’s 4 first quarter points, the Wildcats jumped out on top 9-6 on the Knights. However, a second quarter run gave the Knights 17-14 lead over the Wildcats at halftime. Temple battled back to cut the lead to 24-23 by the end of the third quarter and Joseph Stewart’s 5 fourth quarter points helped the Wildcats outscore the Knights 15-11 in the final quarter of play.
Temple had three players with 7 points apiece, Luke Allen, KD Freeman and Ramsis Meyer. Joseph Stewart had 6 while Mekhi Guttierez and Tomas Torres each had 5 points.
Temple improved to 8-8 on the season and 2-6 in district play. The Wildcats will host Killeen Shoemaker on Friday beginning at 5:00 pm.
