Boys Varsity Basketball · Wildcats hold off Knights, snap skid

The Temple Wildcats shot 58 percent from the field for the game and made all 10 of their free throw attempts in the fourth quarter to stave off Harker Heights’ late comeback attempt Tuesday night and post a 69-66 victory that snapped their six-game losing streak.

The Knights went 9-of-17 from the floor over the final 8 minutes, including 5-of-8 from 3-point range, but the Wildcats got eight points from Ki’Auntre Hayes and clutch free throws by J’Don Garcia and Elcid Smith in the fourth to win their third District 12-6A contest of the season.
