8th Grade Travis A Football, 8th Grade Travis B Football · Travis 8th Grade Football teams claim district titles


The Travis Science Academy Mustang 8th Grade A & B football teams earned district championships on Tuesday night by sweeping the North Belton Tigers in a pair of games at Woodson Field. The Mustang Green (A) and White (B) teams finished the 2018 season with undefeated records of 9-0 each.

The Travis Mustang Green team defeated North Belton 42-32 to earn the Central Texas 8th Grade A Football Championship.

Offensive standouts for the Mustangs were Taurean York who scored on a pair of touchdown runs of 2 and 3 yards, Katon Jimenez a 3 yard touchdown run and Jonathan De La Garza who ran for a 3 yard touchdown and tossed a 30 yard touchdown pass to D’Arius Wilkerson.

Defensive standouts for the Mustangs were Teryon Williams-Echols, Katon Jimenez and Taurean York who returned an interception 50 yards for a Mustang touchdown.

The Travis Mustang White team defeated North Belton 13-8 to earn the Central Texas 8th Grade B Football Championship.

Offensive standouts for the Mustangs were Edgar Jimenez with a 2 yard touchdown run and Adonnis Polk who had a 45 yard touchdown run for the Mustangs.

Defensive standouts for the Mustangs were D’Anthony Jackson, Jesaiah Hernandez and Kaiden Anderson who each had an interception.

The Mustang 8th grade teams completed their season with a combined record of 18-0.

The Mustang 8th grade class had an impressive 2 years at Travis as the Green team went 18-0 in two seasons and the Mustang White team went 15-2 in their two season.

In 2018, the Travis 7th and 8th grade football programs claimed three district championships; 8th Grade A 8th, Grade B and 7th Grade B. They had a combined record of  33-3 this past season.
