Girls Varsity Basketball · Temple girls have high expectations for new season

For all of the different that precedes Temple’s girls basketball program into the 2018-19 season, a proven formula for what makes a team go remains the same.

“Everybody is going to have to play their role and come together as a team,” senior guard Coryn Grovey said.

With a historic 2017-18 campaign farther and farther in the rearview mirror with each passing day, the Tem-Cats — who have their season opener at 6:30 tonight at Waco University — move forward with new head coach RaShonta LeBlanc, four newcomers who will join with eight returners and a fresh set of expectations that, despite the source, have a familiar ring to them.

“They all have to take ownership of their role. For this team, for us to be successful, each person has to take their role and be good at it. It’s going to take all 12 of them,” LeBlanc said. “Everybody is important on the team. So if everybody plays their role and buys into the system, we’ll be fine.”
