Freshman Blue Football · Freshman blue football falls to Midway 28-27


The Temple freshman blue football team lost a tight game with Midway on Thursday night by a score of 28-27.

Quarterback, Samari Howard accounted for all four touchdown with three touchdown passes and one rushing touchdown. Howard’s rushing touchdown came from 33 yards out to start the Wildcats scoring. He later tossed a pair of touchdown passes Isiah Padilla for 34 and 38 yards and a 15 yard touchdown pass to Matthew Harris. Danis Bajric was 3×3 in PAT’s.

Eric Shorter spent a lot of time in the Panther backfield with 5 tackles for a loss and 1 quarterback sack. Tavaris Sullivan has 2 sacks and 2 tackles for loss, Tomas Torres 2 tackles for loss and Matthew Harris and Matthew Del Toro each had a tackle for loss and sack.

Marshall Grays and Lemichael Thompson each forced a fumble while Grays and Faylon Lee each had a fumble recovery. Kani Bowers also had a big pass breakup in the contest.

Temple fell to 5-2 in district play and 6-2 on the season. They will close out their season next Thursday at Copperas Cove.
