Temple has a three-match District 12-6A winning streak to its credit this year and will need another such run if it wants to insert itself back into the playoff conversation as the regular season winds down.
The Tem-Cats took the first step Tuesday toward stringing together some victories — and it only took them about an hour to do it.
With a mix of poise and pure joy, Temple dispatched Waco 25-11, 25-10, 25-10 during a match at Wildcat Gym that the host trailed just once, very briefly.
“We just came out ready to play,” said Temple coach JoAnna Vaden, whose team completed the season sweep of the Lady Lions without dropping a set. “They get too tight and tense too much. I wanted the girls to come out, work some plays and enjoy themselves on the court, but at the same time take care of business.”
