The Temple freshman white football rallied with two fourth quarter touchdowns to defeat Harker Heights by a score of 14-6 on Thursday night at Wildcat Stadium.
The Wildcats played a sluggish first half and found themselves trailing the Knights 6-0 at the halftime break. The Knights lone touchdown on the night came off a interception returned for a touchdown late in the first quarter.
The Wildcat offense began to come to life in the third but it was not until the 8:03 mark left in the fourth quarter before DJ Stockton was able to draw the Wildcats even at 6-6 on a DJ Stockton 8 yard TD run.
Keeping the Knights pinned on their half of the field with numerous defense plays in the quarter, Temple quarterback Kaleb Hill broke loose for a 27 yard TD run with 33 seconds remaining in the contest to give the Wildcats their first lead of the night at 12-6. Hill then hit Jayden Jackson just across the goal line to convert a 2-point conversion pass to account for the final margin of victory.
Temple (2-0, 1-0) will travel to Killeen next Wednesday to face Killeen Shoemaker at 5:00.
