Multiple Teams · Temple athletes celebrate college commitments

Thoroughly scouted for a majority of his high school career, there rarely was any doubt in T.J. Rumfield’s mind that he was destined to play Division I baseball.

A year from now, that’s exactly what Temple’s senior infielder/pitcher will be doing — unless, of course, he’s a professional by then.

In the meantime, Rumfield celebrated an important choice Wednesday inside Wildcat Gym’s foyer, where he signed a letter of intent to play at Texas Tech to complete an adventurous process that included his verbal commitment to Baylor, his de-commitment from Baylor, brief consideration of a go at college football and his ultimate decision to join the Red Raiders.
