Boys 7th Grade Travis Track, Boys 8th Grade Travis Track · Travis boys track results @ Rockdale Relays

ROCKDALE – The Travis Science Academy boys 7th and 8th grade track & field teams opened the 2017 season on Thursday in the Rockdale Relays. Both teams had a strong opening meet and here are some of the top performances from Thursday’s meet.

8th Grade

The Travis 8th graders took 2nd Place in their division with a team total of 132 points. The Mustangs collected four gold medals and four silver medals in multiple events.

Luke Allen took 1st Place in two events as he won the long jump and high jump events. Allen won the long jump with a jump of 18’6 1/2 and won the high jump by clearing 5’4. Alex Rodriguez had a event best 37’0 throw in the shot put to take first place and the 4×200 relay team of AJ McDuffy, Luke Allen, Marqueis Brown , Noel Soria took first place in a time of 1:45.75.

Earning silver medals for the Mustangs were Yoskar Zuniga in the 110 hurdles with a time of 20.12; Thomas McVade in the 300 hurdles (50.87); Cody Little in the shot put (36’4 3/4) and Luke Allen in the discus (104’3)

7th Grade

The Travis 7th graders took 4th Place in their division scoring 69 points. The Mustangs earned one gold medal and three silvers medals on the night.

Earning a gold medal was Jalen Wardale in the 300 hurdles by winning the event in a time of 54.18. Taking home silver medals and finishing in second place were Christian Riley in the 800 meters (2:40.51); Jalen Wardale in the 110 hurdles (19.55) Tavaris Sullivan in the shot put with a throw of 32’0.
