Girls 7th Grade Lamar Track, Girls 8th Grade Lamar Track · Lamar girls track results at Copperas Cove

COPPERAS COVE – The Lamar girls 7th & 8th Grade Track & Field teams opened the season this past week in the Five Hills Invitational at Bulldawg Stadium in Copperas Cove. Here are some of the athletes that placed at the meet.

8th Grade

The 8th Grade team placed 8th overall in the team standings. Brittany Coulter grabbed the silver medal in the 100 hurdles as she ran a 20:15 to take 2nd Place in the event.

The 4×100 relay team of Francis McCauley, Lashonda Roby, Maddie Stewart and Quinteria Russell took 4th Place with a time of 55.96.

7th Grade

The 7th Grade team took 3rd Place in their division with a total of 104 points. The Lady Bearcats also collected 5 gold medals on the night.

Collecting gold medals and finishing in 1st Place in their events were Nadia Mireles in the 800 meters with a time of 2:47; Ali Mack in the 100 Hurdles (18.31),  300 Hurdles (52.65) and Long Jump 14’5 and Elizabeth Stockton in the shot put with a throw of 70’6 1/2.

Ali Mack had the top performance of the meet with three gold, one silver and one broonze medal. while Nadia Mireles had solid night too collecting three medals; gold, silver and bronze.

Mack also picked up a silver medal in the high jump (4’2) which was her fourth medal of the meet. Mireles also had multiple medals as she picked up a silver medal in the 400 meter dash with a time of 69.97.
