MANOR – The Tem-Cat softball team extended their win streak to 3 games as they defeated Manor on Tuesday night by a score of 14-5.

Temple took an early 3-0  lead in the first inning on a Bryanna Salas 3-run homer. Manor knotted the game up at three in the bottom of the first inning bu pushing across three runs themselves.

Temple took the lead for good with six runs in the third inning. In the third the Tem-Cats saw Hope Reeves deliver an RBI single followed by a Hayli Hesse 2 RBI single and a Makenna Holland 2-run double extending the Tem-Cat lead to 9-3.

Holland earned the win for Temple. She threw seven innings, surrendering five runs, six hits, and striking out six.

Temple collected 17 hits on the night. Reeves went 4-5 at the plate with 2 RBI, Madison Wacker 3-4 with a double and 2 RBI; Claudia Zayed 3-3, double RBI; Courtney Massar and Anysia Jones each had 2 hits apiece.

Temple (3-4) returns to action on Thursday in the Denton Tournament. The Tem-Cats will play a pair of games beginning at 5 pm versus Denton Ryan and Irving Nimitz.

Temple’s junior varsity team also defeated Manor on Tuesday night by a score of 14-0. Ashley Alcozer picked up the win on the mound.
