The boys and girls cross country teams competed this Friday at Korompai Soccer Complex in Temple at the Pro-Fit Invitational.
The boys team finished 5th out of 18 teams. Leading the charge for the boys again was freshman Chuey Hernandez who finished 15th with a time of 18:05. Close behind was Senior Carlos Crisanto who finished 23rd in a time of 18:26. Rounding out the scoring for the Wildcats were Chris Cadavid who finished 43rd(18:57), Treyce Bailey 49th(19:10), Luis Rojas 54th(19:16), Israel de la Fuente 60th(19:24) and Damian Soto 72nd(19:37).
The girls team finished 7th out of 14 teams and this meet were led by Sophomore Carly Moore who finished 19th in a time of 22:18. Close on her heels was Junior Arleth Subiria in 21st in a time of 22:31. Other top scoring finishers for the Tem-Cats were Lexi Medlock who finished 40th in a time of 23:30, Janet Cisneros 62nd(24:33), Kaitlynn Goode 63rd(24:41), Ajah McNiel 70th (24:55) and Alexis Garcia 75th(25:10).
The girls JV team finished 4th out 13 teams and received a strong performance from Jackie Vass who finished 2nd. Lauren Munoz finished 15th, Amya McNiel 26th, Daniella Ramos 35th, and Alyssa Velasquez 42nd.
Leading the JV boys were Zakkary Diserens and Malachi Ball who finished 104th and 105th respectively. Coach Melvin continues to be pleased with the performances of the teams but sees plenty of room for improvement. Our new district is tough and we have to come everyday with the work ethic of a champion.
Both Teams will compete this next Friday at Pflugerville ISD Invitational.
