The Temple sub-varsity football teams found much success on the football fields last Thursday night as they went unbeaten in district and non-district play. Here are some of the results from Thursday’s action.
Junior Varsity Blue
Temple- 47, Pflugerville Connally – 13
The Temple JV Blue team defeated Pflugerville Connally 47-13 on Thursday night. It was the fourth consecutive win for the Wildcats as they improved to 3-0 in 17-5A play and 5-2 overall.
Junior Varsity White
Temple – 20, Midway – 20
In a non-district contest played at Woodson Field, the JV White team pulled off a 20-20 tie with Hewitt Midway.
Offensively, the Wildcats scored on a 18 yard pass from Billy Riley to Kevon Parkar and picked up touchdowns runs of 3 yards from Dwight Roberts and 15 yards from Billy Riley.
Defensive standouts for the Wildcats were Davarion Filmore, Aaron Barrientes and Zion Black.
Temple improves their season record to 3-3-1 on the season.
Temple – 52, Pflugerville Connally – 0
The freshman blue team defeated Pflugerville Connally by a score of 52-0 on Thursday night at Wildcat Stadium. The win was the Wildcats 6th in a row and improved their season record to 6-1 and 3-0 in 17-5A play.
Temple – 40, Pflugerville Connally – 8
The freshman white team picked up their first win of the season with a 40-8 victory over Pflugerville Connally at Wildcat Stadium.
Offensive standouts for Temple included Giovanni Hill with 2 TD passes, Kevin Montolongo a 34 yard TD catch; Xavier Aviles a 23 yard TD catch and Francisco Leal with 2 TD runs and two 2 pt conversion runs.
Defensive standouts for Temple included Darreon Laboo with 2 interception returns for touchdowns (82 yards and 45 yards); Timothy Hall an interception; Garrett Johnson and
Deroy Drick Leaks with 2 sacks apiece and DeAngelo Hernandez with one sack.
The Wildcats improve to 1-4-2 on the season and 1-0 in 17-5A play.
Next up for the Temple sub-varsity teams are Hutto. The JV teams will host Hutto at Wildcat Stadium and the freshman teams will travel to Hutto. Games are set for 5:00 and 7:00.
