The Tem-Cat Volleyball dropped four matches in Abilene on Friday but showed signs of improvement at the Bev Ball Classic played at Abilene High School.
Temple fell to Graham 26-24, 25-10 in in their first match as Jenna Green led the Tem-Cats with 4 kills while Jule Hendy recorded seven assist. Destinee Byars picked up a pair of blocks.
In their second match of the day, against Breckenridge, Temple won the first game 25-20, but dropped the second and third by scores of 27-25, 25-22. In that match, Green had a stellar match with 7 kills, 9 digs and one ace. Angel Rivera registered 16 assist while Anna Vivatson, nine kills. Tiffani Mays also had a solid game with 3 kills and 3 blocks.
Temple played another three game match against Sterling City, however, once again fell short 25-21, 19-25, 25-16 as libero, Darby Voight had 14 digs. Green and Vivatson led the team in kills with seven and six respectively. Angel Rivera dished out 15 assist.
Voight also picked up six more digs as the Tem-Cats fell to host Abilene High 25-10, 25-15. Hendy recorded five assist and Green 7 digs.
Temple (0-5) resumes play on Saturday with a 9 am match with Lubbock High.
