Lamar girls basketball recap of the Belton Tournament

The Lamar Lady Bearcat 7th and 8th grade “B” teams participate in the Belton Tournament over the week. Here is a recap of how they did.

The 8th grade “B” team went 1-2 in their three games in the Belton tournament.

Lamar fell to Lake Belton 14-6 in their opener Friday night. The Offensive Player of the Game was Layla Gonzales and the Defensive Player of the Game was Bella Woolsey.

On Saturday, Lamar defeated South Belton 17-6. The Offensive Player of the Game was LaTyea Hemphill with 8 points and the Defensive Player of the Game was Erin Shorter.

In the consolation championship, the lady Bearcats faced Travis and fell in a hard fought contest 19-17. The Offensive Players of the Game was Jimesia Peoples with 8 points and Bella Woolsey 7 points. The Defensive Player of the Game was Erin Shorter.

The 7th Grade “B” team went 2-1 in the tournament and won the consolation championship.

Lamar fell to Lake Belton in their opener Friday night by a score of 14-9. The Offensive Player of the game was LeeAna Quinones and the Defensive Player of the game was Branesha Jimmerson.

On Saturday, the Lady Bearcats defeated Copperas Cove Junior High 14-8. The Offensive Player of the Game was Lily Wiser with 8 points and the Defensive Player of the Game was LeeAna Quinones.

Lamar was matched with Bonham in the consolation championship where they defeated the Lady Bulldogs 16-4. The Offensive Player of the Game was Lily Wiser with 8 points and the Defensive Player of the Game was Tatyana Gonzales.

Lamar will be on the road Tuesday as they will face the Travis Science Academy lady Mustangs beginning at 4:30.
