Wildcat Football subvarsity recap from Oct. 5

The Temple junior varsity and freshman football teams were in action this past Thursday with various games with multiple teams. Temple had a good showing by going 4-0 against their opponents. Here are the results from Thursday’s action.

Junior Varsity Blue

The Junior Varsity Blue team defeated A&M Consolidated 13-7 to improve their district record to 2-0 on the season.

The Wildcats got rushing touchdowns from Kyleland Sauls (3 yards) and Josh Murrell (5 yards). Offensive Player of the game was Emilio Govea and the Defensive Player of the Game was Vernell Harlaque.

Temple improves to 3-3 on the season and host Bryan Rudder on Thursday at 7:00

Junior Varsity White

The Temple Junior Varsity White team defeated Holland in a non-district contest 22-20. Temple improved to 2-3-1 on the season and will host La Vega on Thursday at 5:00.

Freshman Blue

The Freshman Blue team defeated A&M Consolidated 42-8 and improve to 2-0 in district play.

Offensive scores from the Wildcats were: Luke Allen with a rushing touchdown of 48 yards and a pair of touchdown passes, 48 yards to AJ McDuffy and 60 yards to Mychal Johnson. Keon Williams had a 7 yard touchdown reception while Thomas McVade scored on a 10 yard run, Jaques West from 2 yards ou and Humberto Arizmendi from 9 yards out.

David Garcia was a perfect 6-6 on PAT for the Wildcats.

Defensively for Temple, Rashad Mayo 2 quarterback sacks and one tackle for a loss; Cameron Hooper 1 QB sack Isiah Fach, 1 sack, 2 tackles for a loss. Also recording a tackle for a loss were Thomas McVade, Orlando Virgen and Deavon Williams.

Temple improves to 3-2-1 on the season and will face Bryan Rudder on the road next Thursday.
Freshman White
The Freshman White team picked up their first victory of the season with a 12-6 win over Waco at Waco ISD Stadium.
Offensive Player of the Game was Tyler Van Beber who caught the game winning touchdown while the Defensive Player of the Game was Carlton Mac with an interception returned for a touchdown.
