The junior varsity blue baseball team scored in every inning en route to a 14-2 win over Harker Heights in the Temple Invitational Baseball Tournament.
The Wildcats jumped out early by scoring four runs in the bottom of the fourth inning. Corey Goynes doubled to right field to drive in the first two runs of the contest and later scored himself on a passed ball.
Temple tacked on two more runs in the second on an RBI triple from Cain Lopez and RBI single once again Corey Goins. Then two more in the third with the big hit being an RBI triple from Tyson Magana. This staked the Wildcats to an 8-2 lead after three innings.
Temple scored six runs in the fourth inning. The big inning was thanks to a RBI single by Adrian Carlos, an error, a 2-run double by Tim Hall, and a RBI single from Vance Willis.
Brandon Goynes earned the win for Wildcats Blue. He tossed four innings, allowing two runs, two hits, striking out six, and walking one. Tyson Magana tossed one inning of hitless ball in relief.
Temple pounded out ten hits in the game. Cain Lopez was 2-3 with a triple, RBI, 2 runs scored; Corey Goynes was 2-3 double, 3 RBI; Tyson Magana 1-3, triple, 3 RBI and Tim Hall was 1-3 with a double, 2 RBI and 3 runs scored.
Temple (7-1) will close out tournament play on Saturday when they host Killeen at 4:30
