The Temple junior varsity blue baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-2 loss to Hutto on Tuesday at Hallford Field in the opening game of the season for both teams.

Hutto jumped out to a 6-0 lead on the Wildcats before Temple started clawing back in the third inning.

Vance Willis took the loss on the mound for Temple going 3 innings while giving up 6 runs on 6 hits.

Vance Willis, Antoinio Salazar, Brandon Goynes, and Gabe Garza all had one hit to lead Wildcats offensively. tyson Magana picked up the lone RBI for Temple on an RBI groundout scoring Vance Willis who had led off the fourth inning with a hit.

Temple will compete in the Harker Heights Tournament beginning on Thursday and conclude on Saturday.
