Temple vs. Consolidated 135

The Temple boys junior varsity basketball team defeated A&M Consolidated 59-52 on Tuesday night at Wildcat Gym and in the process won the District 18-5A Championship in the junior varsity division.

The Wildcat finished with an overall season record of 24-4 and a district record of 11-1. Another accomplishment of the squad was winning the Rosebud-Lott varsity basketball tournament back in December.

The Wildcats trailed by one after the first quarter 12-11. However, a big second quarter, paced by Anthony Clark’s 8 points propelled the Wildcats to a 29-15 lead at the half. Temple continued to cruise into the second half pushing the lead to 45-32 at the end of three quarters.

Anthony Clark and Lathyn Castilleja led the Wildcats with 14 points apiece. Austin Weldin had 12, Kamron Gossett 7 and Gadge Smith had 5.
