Tem-Cats fall to College Station 61-38

COLLEGE STATION – The Tem-Cat basketball team fell to third place in district play on Friday night with a 61-38 loss to District 18-5A champion College Station.

College Station jumped out to an 11-2 lead early on the Tem-Cats as Temple missed their first five field goal attempts on the night and committed three turnovers to start the game.

The Lady Cougars continued to pull away from Temple taking a 33-14 halftime lead.

Wilashia Burleson led the Tem-Cats in scoring with 18 points on the night while Coryn Grovey had 8 and Hannah Guillen 5.

Temple (16-11) on the season and 8-3 in district play will host Bryan on Tuesday night in the regular season finale. Temple trails second place Bryan Rudder (9-2) with one last game remaining in district play.

In junior varsity action, Temple defeated College Station 43-34 to improve to 11-0 in district play.
