WACO – The Wildcat basketball team started sluggishly on Friday night at Waco as they trailed the Lions 9-2 midway through the first quarter. However, Temple used a 25-13 second quarter run to take a 59-50 victory and end a six game losing skid for the Wildcats.

Arius Brown sparked the Wildcats in the second quarter by scoring 10 of his 12 points in the quarter. Temple trailed 11-7 to start the second but with Brown’s presence in middle along with the rest of the Wildcat offense knocking down shots, Temple carried a 32-24 lead into the half.

Wesley Shepperd led the Wildcats with 13 points while Sabian Hill had 11, Ethan Mitchell 8, Nicholas Ramirez 7 and Jashawn Darden 4.

Temple improved to 2-6 in district play and 12-18 on the season. The Wildcats will have a bye on Tuesday but returns to the court on Friday with a home contest against College Station.
