COLLEGE STATION – The Temple boys basketball team rallied from a 10 point deficit with two minutes remaining in the game to come within one point with four seconds remaining. However, a pair of free throws and a missed three point attempt allowed the College Station Cougars to escape Tuesday nights game with Temple with a 51-48 victory.
The Wildcat built them an early game deficit as College Station started the game on a 10-0 run and led 26-16 at the half. It was not until the fourth quarter when Jashawn Darden sparked the Wildcat offense with his game high 16 points. Wesley Shepperd chipped in 10 and Ethan Mitchel 7.
Temple (1-2) in 18-5A play will try to even their district record on Friday as they will host Bryan at Wildcat Gym.
