There were no season-ending heroics for the Temple Tem-Cats volleyball team Tuesday night.

The end result was the same as so many others this year — a disappointing loss for the Tem-Cats. This time it was the College Station A&M Consolidated Lady Tigers on the other end of Temple’s 25-19, 25-8, 25-22 defeat in a regular-season finale at Wildcat Gym.

“I really didn’t expect us to finish in last place,” Temple coach Courtney Mitchell said of her Tem-Cats, who finished at 9-19 overall and 1-11 in District 18-5A. “But like I told the girls, ‘Our record does not define who we are.’”

It was the final match for seniors Hope Davis and Carson Ingram.

Davis, a defensive specialist who finished the match with five digs, admitted she was sad to see it end but also looked forward to the rest of her senior year.
