The 2016 District 17-5A All-District selections were announced this week and a pair of freshman garnered several of the top accolades for the Tem-Cat softball team.
Freshman center-fielder Alexis Lewis was named the District 17-5A Newcomer of the Year while fellow freshman Makenna Holland was named to the 1st Team All-District team as a pitcher.
Temple had two players named to the 17-5A 2nd team in catcher Courtney Massar and shortstop Anysia Jones.
Martha Aldaiz-Sustaita was named as an Honorable Mention utility player along with Hope Reeves as a designated player.
Temple also had six players named to the academic all district team. These were players who achieved a 90 or above average through the fourth and fifth six weeks grading periods. They were:
Temple finished the season with an overall record of 7-20 and 3-9 in district play.
